But while the business had grown and evolved, their website hadn’t kept pace. It no longer reflected the brand’s standing, innovation, or the scale of products and expertise behind it. The goal was clear – create a digital platform that captures Domus Lighting’s legacy, technical depth, and commitment to quality, while also making it a powerful tool for their customers.

The Challenge

Domus Lighting serves a diverse mix of users – from electricians and wholesalers to architects and designers. Each group visits the site for different reasons, whether it’s checking specs, looking for inspiration, or getting technical details for a project.

The previous website struggled to support all these needs at once. It didn’t provide live stock data or pricing for trade customers, and managing content in the backend was slow and clunky. The Approach

The new website was built on WordPress, using a custom architecture with advanced integrations to handle complex data and user experiences. A tiered user system was implemented to cater to different access levels.

Account holders can also view pricing and stock availability through a real-time Business Central API integration.
  • Account Dashboard : A dedicated workspace for account holders to manage everything in one place. Users can save resources, create projects, and organise products by room. They can also invite others to collaborate and request a quote for the entire project, making the process faster and more connected.
  • Resources : A central library for spec sheets, catalogues, and technical documents. It helps customers find what they need quickly while reducing repetitive admin work for the Domus team.
  • Wishlist : Lets users save products they like, revisit them later, and request quotes directly. This turns casual browsing into genuine leads.
  • Product Filters : Smart filtering helps customers find the right product in seconds, whether they are searching by category, sub category or attribute.
  • ​​Enhanced Search : An improved search experience powered by Algolia that lets users instantly find products, resources, or blog articles all from one place.
  • Future-Ready CMS : A flexible modular CMS built with ACF that gives the Domus team full control to update, customize, and expand their website as the business grows.
